In early 2023 I was given the honor to partner with my friends at Temporary Office on their project, TOUCH THE VALLEY, which aimed to rethink the Braille system by translating the human person’s intuitive experience with their landscape into the form of a 3D topographic puzzle, to ultimately foster, for the visually impaired, a closer relationship between nature and the sense of touch through play. This was presented at Milan Design Week.
Personally, this project represented a deeply needed [imagination of wholeness for and with peripheral communities] and [integration of the work of nature into what I observe as a generally anthropocentric society]. This is the kind of work and creativity, though not exclusively, that the last couple years of studies have encouraged and challenged me to seek out and participate in. I worked from pre-production to post-production to create the film (above) that was screened at Milan Design week as well as photographed their collection of puzzles and pieces.
Later in 2024, they held a New York City showcase that I photographed.
